Artist and master LEGO craftsman Mike Doyle spent 600 hours and used more than 200,000 plastic bricks to create Contact 1, the first in a series of mega LEGO builds. In a Kickstarter campaign to raise money for the project, Doyle explains that the series “was designed to promote the beauty of all intelligent life forms as extensions of our family.”
