Doctor Who star Karen Gillan spoke out against critics who have accused Steven Moffat of sexism the Dallas Sci-Fi Expo, reports DoctorWhoTV.

Karen said: “I just don’t understand that because I feel like [with Amy] I had a very rounded, interesting, flawed and layered character to play.

She added: “And I wore skirts but Steven Moffat had nothing to do with that! He doesn’t care about costumes. So I don’t really understand that if I’ve got to be honest.”

Karen will appear alongside co-stars Matt Smith and Arthur Darvill at the Australian Whoniverse event in March. All three will be live on stage answering questions from fans.

Karen posted a previously-unseen picture of her and Matt Smith from their first camera test on Twitter yesterday which made us all a little misty-eyed.
