BBC aired an interview with Twelfth Doctor Peter Capaldi a few days ago for the Series 8 launch, where Peter discussed being keen for the Doctor to be a ‘little darker’. In another example of the media overstating Peter’s age, the idiot/interviewer called him a “more elderly Doctor”. Peter managed to keep a straight face.

This contains some very brief clips from Episode 2 of Series 8, so beware of spoilers.

Thanks for bringing us this, Olga.

Poor old Peter Capaldi. He’s 56! He’s younger than I am!

I think he’ll be absolutely great as Dr. Who. From the clips I see he cuts a very
imposing figure – as the great character actor which he is.

I agree Mary, I think he’ll be awesome. I don’t know anyone who is not looking forward to Peter’s debut as the Doctor. As for Doctor Who fans, I was sitting in a cinema full of young and old(er) for the 50th anniversary and they nearly blew the roof off the place when he appeared on the screen for a split-second. It’s getting pretty tiresome the way the media keep going on about his age, the majority of fans couldn’t care less.
