The Time of the Doctor

The Doctor Who 2013 Christmas special, written by Steven Moffat, has been officially titled The Time of the Doctor.

Orbiting a quiet backwater planet, the massed forces of the universe’s deadliest species gather, drawn to a mysterious message that echoes out to the stars. And amongst them – the Doctor. Rescuing Clara from a family Christmas dinner, the Time Lord and his best friend must learn what this enigmatic signal means for his own fate and that of the universe.

The Time of the Doctor will conclude Matt Smith’s run as the Eleventh Doctor, the title tying in with the last three special episodes, the Series 7.5 finale The Name of the Doctor, online special The Night of the Doctor and 50th anniversary episode The Day of the Doctor.

What do we know? He’s going to Trenzalor. The official artwork features the Silence and Cybermen, and the trailer also shows us the Weeping Angels and the Daleks. All of the Eleventh Doctor’s deadliest foes. Silence will fall.
