Doctor Who scooped two awards at the British National Television Awards, Best Drama and, in a fitting tribute to the Eleventh, Best Drama Performance for Matt Smith. Matt was unable to attend the awards as he is still busy with the American Psycho musical so Steven Moffat and Jenna Coleman accepted the award on his behalf. Matt filmed a video message for fans.

Radio Times had a quick chat with Jenna Coleman on her new Doctor Peter Capaldi, the “cracking start” they have gotten off to and the first episode of series eight. Watch below.

Matt was so keen to thank fans who had supported him in the viewer-voted awards he filmed it it on a phone backstage at the theatre, right before his performance.
