The first look at the Doctor Who Christmas Special has just been revealed at New York Comic-Con. The Return of Doctor Mysterio sees the Doctor teaming up with an investigative journalist and a superhero to save New York from a deadly alien threat.

New companion Bill will not appear in the Christmas special, but Matt Lucas will be returning as Nardole. Justin Chatwin (Orphan Black, Shameless) and Charity Wakefield (Wolf Hall, Sense and Sensibility) will be playing the Doctor’s Christmas companions.



Doctor Misterio is the Latin American title for “Doctor Who”, a name Peter loves.


The sixty minute special is written by by Steven Moffat and directed by Ed Bazalgette (The Woman Who Lived and The Girl Who Died). Watch the behind the scenes video below!
