In the recent trailer celebrating 50 years of Doctor Who, we saw many of the Doctor’s former incarnations appear thanks to new technology. So far the only Time Lords that have neen confirmed for The Day of the Doctor have been David Tennant’s Tenth, Matt Smith’s Eleventh and John Hurt’s “War Doctor”. But now Fourth Doctor Tom Baker has dropped a major spoiler to the Huffington Post.

Day of the Doctor Spoiler Warning!

“I am in the special,” said Baker. “I’m not supposed to tell you that, but I tell you that very willingly and specifically; the BBC told me not to tell anybody but I’m telling you straightaway.”

When asked to confirm, a representative from the BBC stated said: “As with William Hartnell’s recent appearance in the last season finale, anything is possible in Doctor Who. But nothing is certain.”

Tom Baker called the circumstances of his character’s appearance in the special “extraordinary.”

“It worked out very well, I think, judging by the reactions of the technicians,” he added.

In the opening scene of The Name of the Doctor, the Series 7.5 finale, companion  Clara was digitally inserted into old footage featuring past Doctors William Hartnell, Colin Baker, Tom Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Jon Pertwee, Patrick Troughton, and Peter Davison. Can we expect more than one of the former Doctor’s incarnations to make an appearance? We think it’s likely.
