Game of Thrones has announced nine new cast members for Season 5. The San Diego Comic-Con panel kicked off with a video introducing the latest members of cast.

Alexander Siddig as Doran Martell

This is the character I have been most looking forward to seeing. Prince Doran Martell is the head of House Martell, the Prince of Dorne, and the Lord of Sunspear. He is the older brother to the ill-fated Prince Oberyn Martell, and the two could not be more opposite in temperament. He is one of George’s most fascinating characters, and I can’t wait to meet the rest of House Martell next season.

Alexander Siddig is a Sudanese-born English actor. He is best known for his genre work in the role of Dr. Julian Bashir in the hit television series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Phillip Burton in Primeval, and his big-screen work includes Syriana, The Fifth Estate and Kingdom of Heaven.

Toby Sebastian as Trystane Martell

Trystane Martell is Prince Doran’s son, bethrothed to Myrcella Baratheon.

Toby Sebastian is a musician and actor. He has appeared in the sci-fi fantasy After the Dark and will appear later this year in Barely Lethal alongside Sophie Turner.

Nell Tiger Free as Myrcella Baratheon

The last time we saw Myrcella Baratheon she was setting sail for Drone and Cersei was vowing revenge on Tyrion. She has been getting along just fine with her betrothed Trystane but Prince Oberyn’s death may change things for Myrcella in Dorne.

Nell Tiger Free is best known for her roles as Chloe in the BBC adaptation of Mr. Stink, as Anna in the BAFTA-winning and highly acclaimed indie film Broken and also recently guest-starred on an episode of the crime series Endeavour.

The Sand Snakes

The Sand Snakes are the infamous illegitimate daughters of Prince Oberyn Martell by various women, the name alluding to their father’s nickname, the Red Viper, and to their surname Sand, given to illegitimate children in Dorne.

Jessica Henwick as Nymeria (“Nym”) Sand

Nym Sand is the second eldest of the late Prince Oberyn’s  daughters. Her mother was a noblewoman from Old Volantis. Nym can conceal a dozen daggers on her person and is extremely skilled with the blades.

Jessica Henwick is best known for her roles as Bo in the television series Spirit Warriors, Charlotte in The Thick of It and Amy Lang in Silk.

Rosabell Laurenti Sellers as Tyene Sand

Tyene Sand is the daughter of a septa. Tyene is regarded as treacherous, while maintaining a sweet and pious persona. She also shares her father’s knowledge of poisons and it is her chosen weapon.

Rosabell Laurenti Sellers is an Italian actress who was born in Santa Monica. Her English-speaking roles incluse The Whistleblower alongside Liam Cunningham, and the television series Mia and Me. Last year she appeared in Buongiorno papà, by Edoardo Leo and Passione sinistra by Marco Ponti.

Keisha Castle-Hughes as Obara Sand

A fearsome warrior, Obara Sand is the eldest and fiercest of the Sand Snakes, her mother was an Oldtown prostitute. She wields a spear, a whip, and a round shield of steel and copper. When Oberyn came to claim her, her mother did not want him to take her. Oberyn threw a spear down at her mother’s feet and slapped her mother. Then Oberyn asked Obara which weapon, the spear or the tears, she would choose. Obara chose the spear. Her mother drank herself to death within a year.

Keisha Castle-Hughes is a New Zealand actress who is best known for her breakout Academy Award-nominated performance as Pai in the film Whale Rider, and has also appeared in The Almighty Johnsons and Red Dog.

DeObia Oparei as Areo Hotah

Areo Hotah is the long-serving captain of Doran Martell’s palace guard, renowned for his loyalty to Doran and his longaxe that has a shaft six feet long.

DeObia Oparei is a London born actor and playwright. He is best know for his roles as Gunner in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Thundarian in Your Highness.

Enzo Cilenti as Yezzan zo Qaggaz

Yezzan zo Qaggaz is an extremely wealthy slave trader. He is one of the Wise Masters and richest men in Yunkai. This solves the mystery of whether or not they’ll be including a certain story arc…

Enzo Cilenti is an English actor, director and writer with an established career in theatre. Some of his big screen performances include Rum Diary and Kick-Ass 2, and he will appear in Guardians of the Galaxy and Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell.

Jonathan Pryce as the High Sparrow

The mysterious High Sparrow is a devout and pious man who claims to have walked all over the realm. He often came upon villages that were too small to have their own septs and performed the traditional duties of a septon.

Jonathan Pryce is an accomplished Welsh stage and film actor. He made his breakthrough performance in Terry Gilliam’s cult film Brazil, and his long career also includes many high profile films such as Tomorrow Never Dies, G.I Joe and Pirates of the Caribbean.

It’s really good to see Alexander Siddig again in a strong series. I’ve liked him ever since Deep Space Nine.

I always love their casting choices, and I really can’t wait to see Dorne. They’ve been filming in some beautiful locations.

I tried to post something on another site regarding this and my comment was gobbled up by cyber-space so I hope this registers. Some of these actors are faces I have seen as jobbing actors (I’m based in the UK). Some are new to me. Alexander Siddig was in the BBC’s “Atlantis” which has been commissioned for a second series, so I was surprised to see him in this list, though I knew he was quite a popular fan-cast for Prince Doran. Jonathan Pryce of course has been in loads of things both in TV and film and on the stage (he was in the original version of “Miss Saigon”). Enzo Cilenti was in “Prisoners’ Wives” in the UK last year. He played a character, Mick who ran a children’s football club and had banned a troublesome child from the club and the child’s mother made an allegation (falsely) that he had done something inappropriate to the boy. The character was cleared but not before he’d been beaten up in prison. Enzo Cilenti was good in that role. David Bradley and Iain Glenn were in the same series. I remember Keisha Castle-Hughes when she was but a lass in “Whale Rider” but haven’t seen her in anything since. I shall be interested to see how everything pans out next year in the next season of “Game of Thrones”

I am really looking forward to seeing the Sand Snakes and I’ll be especially interested to see Keisha. I’ve not seen her in anything since Whale Rider either.
I wasn’t sure they were going to include the High Sparrow, so firstly it is great news and secondly Jonathan Pryce will be wonderful. I have heard they’re leaving Arianne Martell out though, I had no idea about that. I think Obara is supposed to ‘replace’ her.
