The point where A Song of Ice and Fire and Game of Thrones met at the alleged death of Jon Snow has been really rather strange. Readers were now not only sitting around wondering and agonising until the release of the next book, but they joined the rest of the world avidly watching actor Kit Harington’s hair.
In desperation producers had fan-favourite Maisie Williams try and convince fans that Jon Snow was dead, and director David Nutter claimed he had told US President Obama that Jon Snow was dead. Fans responded with complete and utter derision, with one fan starting a petition for Kit to cut his hair. Now Watchers on the Wall have spotted Kit Harington heading back to Belfast, yet again, and on the same flight as Tom Wlaschiha, who plays Jaqen H’ghar.

Kit has apparently had to refuse photo requests with fans in Belfast, saying he was “not allowed”. Of course he could be there to film the funeral, but nobody is buying it. George R.R. Martin has been working to get the sixth instalment of A Song of Ice and Fire published before season six of Game of Thrones, but it’s impossible to tell whether the television version of Jon’s story is going to remotely resemble George’s story (or even be a competent one considering the appalling writing last season). Let’s hope we’ll get a clearer picture of Jon’s fate in The Winds of Winter.
