The first trailer for Quentin Tarantino’s western The Hateful Eight has been revealed.

While racing toward the town of Red Rock in post-Civil War Wyoming, bounty hunter John “The Hangman” Ruth (Kurt Russell) and his fugitive prisoner (Jennifer Jason Leigh) encounter another bounty hunter (Samuel L. Jackson) and a man (Walton Goggins) who claims to be a sheriff. Hoping to find shelter from a blizzard, the group travels to a stagecoach stopover located on a mountain pass. There, they encounter four strangers, and soon learn that they may not make it to their destination after all.

The Hateful Eight also stars Bruce Dern, Damian Bechir, Michael Masden and Tim Roth.  The Hateful Eight has had a rather fractious history. It was shelved eighteen months ago after the script was leaked. The script received standing ovation at a live reading in LA and a few months later Tarantino decided it was back on.

Recently Tarantino announced Ennio Morricone has come on board to score the film. Watch the first trailer below.
