We’re loving Penny Dreadful‘s new take on Robert Louis Stevenson’s Dr. Jekyll, who has been introduced as an old friend of Victor Frankenstein. Played by Shazad Latif, Jekyll is the illegitimate son of a British soldier and his mistress, and an outcast when he arrives in London, despite his successful career. Watch John Logan and Shazad Latif discuss Jekyll, and go behind the scenes in his lab below.

The ending of Penny dreadful was well done. As the entire drama was well written and acted out etc. etc. The crying shame to it all is that it ended after only several seasons. I think the movers and shakers behind this wonderful Cable television hit made a horrible mistake ending it so quickly

I think that if John Logan always wanted it to end with Vanessa’s story then it made sense to end it here, but I really am going to miss the show. I am keeping my fingers crossed for spin-offs, they left Jekyll’s story at a pivotal point
