George R.R Martin gave an update on the progress of Winds of Winter at the premier of Game of Thrones Season Three last week. Busy writing the script for Game of Thrones Season 4, George stated he was “about a quarter of the way through” the sixth installment of A Song of Ice and Fire.

A shriek of agony from millions of fans who waited six years for a Dance with Dragons resounded throughout the universe.

George also discussed gaining a new audience and the differences between his television audience and his book series fans. He also kept a marvellously straight face when asked for “spoilers” for TV fans

Most of the people who die in the books are still going to die in the TV series.
