You know, although I am UK born and bred I’ve never watched this series. I suppose I should give the last ever episode a whirl if I remember. We don’t actually get white Christmases THAT often in my part of the UK – the last one was in 2010. Scotland is probably more likely to get snow and also possibly the high hills in the north of England. I remember the last year we had one because I fell on some black ice (despite wearing moulded soles) and while fortunately I didn’t break anything I had a very bad sprain which meant I couldn’t get out for some time (well I did take a cab to my doctor for a diagnosis) – a kind neighbour (no longer with us sadly) did some shopping for me. But we do get white Christmases more often in fiction…having said that I might get a surprise and wake up to a white Christmas Day.

If you like period soap operas you’ll enjoy it. I am still glad they finished it off this year though, there is only so many times they can find new suitors for Lady Mary.
