Benedict-Cumberbatch-Doctor-Strange-MarvelIf you thought Benedict Cumberbatch hadn’t quite conquered all of fandom yet, think again. Marvel has just announced Benedict will play the title role in the upcoming movie adaptation of Doctor Strange.

“Stephen Strange’s story requires an actor capable of great depth and sincerity,” said Producer Kevin Feige. “In 2016, Benedict will show audiences what makes Doctor Strange such a unique and compelling character.”

Created by Steve Ditko, Doctor Stephen Strange first appeared in 1963 in Strange Tales. Doctor Strange is scheduled to hit cinemas on November 4, 2016. Directed by Scott Derrickson with Jon Spaihts penning the screenplay, the film will follow the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.
